1% BDR. Now sharing my journey as an AE

April 2024. I started as a BDR at Prewave with zero idea what the job actually was. I'd watched a few YouTube videos, thought it looked easy, and showed up with no system, no structure, just confusion every single day.


I failed at it, plainly, for a while.


What changed wasn't motivation. It was treating the job like a sport instead of a grind. Building real systems for outreach, qualification, and how I showed up daily, instead of winging it and hoping volume would save me.


I started consistently overperforming quota. Nine months in, I was promoted to Enterprise BDR, working accounts at companies with 5,000+ employees & 5 billions+ in revenue.


Eighteen months after that first confused day at Prewave, I landed the seat I'd actually been building toward: Account Executive at LinkedIn.
